Tags Pane
The Tags Pane is summoned using the Tags Pane action found on the View Menu. This action is a toggle; using the Tags Pane action again will hide the Tags Pane. When visible, the Tags Pane is displayed underneath the Tree Pane.
The Tags Pane displays a list of all node tags that exist in the document in alphanumeric ascending order. This is analogous to the "tag cloud" displayed by many web applications. As with such tag clouds, the type size of a tag increases as its frequency in the document relative to other tags increases.
By selecting a tag and pressing the Enter key or by double-clicking on a tag, all nodes in the document that share that tag will be filled to List View. This provides you a quick way to view or edit all nodes that share the tag without using the Find dialog.
To switch back to Tree View, toggle the Tree / List Pane action found on the View Menu. You may toggle back and forth between the two views as many times as you wish. However, the currently selected node in either view will not be the selected node when you return to the same view if you have changed the currently selected node in the other view.
If you select a tag from the Tags Pane list, you can also use the actions on the Tags Pane Context Menu to add an existing tag to the currently selected node, remove a tag from the currently selected node, or apply the Toggle Tag Marking action. Removing a tag from the current node does not remove it from the document unless the tag's only occurrence is in the current node.
Using the Toggle Tag Marking action, you may apply a color to a tag or remove it. Coloring a tag causes a number sign ("#") of that color to occur in the Tree Pane beside each node that has that tag assigned to it. See the Toggle Tag Marking action for further directions.
How To instructions for performing various tagging actions can be found in the Tagging Nodes section of this document.
