Read-Only Node

The Read-Only Node action is located on the Node Flags sub-menus of the Tree Pane Context Menu and the List Pane Context Menu.

The action is useful in situations when you wish to protect a node from accidental edits but wish to maintain the ability to edit other nodes in the same document.

This action sets a node property causing the node to be non-editable from the NoteCase Pro main window until such time as the Read-Only Node action is applied again to the same node. However, node properties including the node title may be edited from the Node Properties dialog.

When a node is set to Read-Only, spellchecker highlighting will not display in the node.

The Read-Only Node action is a toggle action that acts on the currently selected node and should not be confused with the Read Only Document action located on the Documents sub-menu of the File Menu. The latter toggles the operating environment's Read Only attribute for the entire document.

Visual Indicator: When a note is set to read-only, the background color of the Node Title Bar is changed to a configurable color, red by default. This color can be changed on the Display Settings page of the General Settings dialog.
